This is a builder's photo. One source reports that the engine was built in 2-82. The 1921 date shown apparently is when SP created a copy negative of the photo. By that date the loco was a much modified Brooklyn Shops switcher at Portland.

#765 was a daily Pre War Los Angeles - San Francisco freight train. It appears that #3675 is waiting to be added as the "point" (front) helper engine to a second section of the train at San Luis Obispo.
