In an unintended bit of irony, Sierra began its Steam Spectacular with a diesel (above). While #34 was still getting its morning coffee in the roundhouse, #44 was out in the yard switching-out the excursion consist. The 34 handled the train down to Oakdale, where the waiting #'s 3 and 28 were added to the consist after it was wyed (below). |

Up the line we beheld a couple of triple-header runbys, and recorded some of Wx4's best work.

Further on, the 3 spot was sent ahead, while, for some lost reason, the 28 and 34 did a turn (above) so that the latter would be on the point for the next run-by (below). | |||||
