The Willys Support Team
|
||||||
The Willys Support Team comes in two sub categories: human (see above) and mechanical. Below are the mobile components of my Willys' mechanical support. And a dog... |

Olga

| Olga ("Olga not pretty, but Olga strong...like ox.") is a dirty, nasty mid 1950's Ford Model 600 tractor featuring a back hoe and end loader. She is presently engaged in all manner of duties connected with the construction of the palatial new Casa de Rock Ape. Because tractor photos are boring, I decided to focus on BoBert, one of our two dogs. He's a cute old guy who acts as host and guide to the deer who wander into the yard looking for our peach tree. | ||||||

Cletus

| Cletus is a miniature road roller that a former neighbor gave to me - THANKS BETTY! After I sandblasted him and gave him a new coat of left-over Rustoleum, he performed ground compaction duties prior to laying the Casa's slab. But tractor photos are boring - what I really want to point out here is more evidence that the strongest attractive force in the universe is "flat space". Notice the detritus that has built up upon Cletus's deck after only 15 minutes of idleness. Incidentally, that's the moribund Willybishi project in the background. | ||||||

Red Green

| Red Green is my 1999 Dodge Ram 2500, with a Cummins Diesel and an Allison six speed. He's sort of a, er, maid-of-all-work. Two wheel drive truck photos are boring, so here is what I really wanna talk about: DON'T DRINK AND DRIVE!!! I'm absolutely religious about not hitting the streets with a heat (or even a tiny buzz) on, so you would think that I would show the same discretion around the yard. The above photo is living proof that this isn't so.
Nope, I wasn't racing Red around the driveway loop. Rather, whilst holding a too-large tumbler of Jack Daniels (over), I proceeded to do a minor re position of Olga the tractor. Ouch! Darn back hoe boom! If you'll look closely just to the left of the (Olga-damaged) tail light, you'll notice some yellow smudges, which are actually dents. The wife did those by backing into a post (quixotically, guarding a monster bush) at the Bank of America. She had no excuse for this - she was sober.
