E.O. painting over Wx4's problems

Dateline, 12-05
Yup, there's been nothing new here for about a decade, now, but that will change fairly soon, now that Wx4's Sunset Garage (which looks very similar to the mythical shed, above) is nearing the end of its rehab. Our two '51 Wagons are parked inside, already.

Note, if you've emailed us, but received no reply, we're sorry. Sadly to us, time constraints have eliminated our ability to answer same. This isn't a permanent deal, and we greatly miss the email chats.

A note on our new name and look:

If it doesn't work, paint it. Corporate America employs this concept, which they call "re-imaging", with utter abandon. And who are we to second guess the big guys, especially when it means less work for us? Thus, we've slapped some paint over the defects and re-emerged as the Wonderful World of Willys Wagons. Substantively speaking, Wx4 is still the SOS that it was when we called it World Wide Willys Wagons, but at least now we look good in the brochures.

These pages are devoted to the world's first all-steel station wagon, which is also the world's first SUV: the 1946-65 Willys Jeep Station Wagon, a.k.a., Utility Wagon. The Jeep Panel Deliveriy / Utility Delivery is fair game as well, as is other miscellaneous Jeep stuff.

Useful Stuff Much of this area is oriented towards those who are contemplating their first Wagon / Delivery project. Here you'll find a fairly extensive sections on identification and specs by year / model. Also here is a growing section about conversions / frame & running gear swap-outs, plus other stuff too.

My Herd El Rock Ape, a tilt-front end, 327 equipped 1951 +- Wagon, is my current project, temporarily stalled awaiting completion of a new shop . Also briefly covered is Old Nameless, another '51, and my Willys Support Team.

World Wide Willys Wagons Coverage of Willys-licensed Wagon production world-wide over the half-century following World War II. Also: Wagon Rides, a look at other guys' projects; an international look at Wagon ( an other interesting Jeep) ads.

Weird Willys Its weird; it's Jeeping (more or less); it's probably too stupid for you to bear; but, if nothing else, it's diverse: Jeep Wienermobile; Go-Devil Chili; Cosmic forces of Yin and Yang; and tons of other values for your entertainment dollar!

A triumph of historical research by Wx4 scientists allows us to present, for the first time in any forum for over fifty years, the original, unaltered Willys Joke. Too bad that it's not very funny...

Circa 1957 Jeep-O'-Ree

Pretty cool, eh? Wx4 staff found this in an old house that we purchased years ago. The best intelligence that we have is that the photo was taken in early 1957 in Southern California or possibly Arizona. Notice the attention being paid to the all-important (and presumably beer-filled) ice chest. This photo was taken not long before Mr. Blackwell put Jeepers on his Worst Dressed List.

Humpf - no Wagons....
